Our Companies

The Soumat network gives the company a strong position in the grain marketing supply chain. As an independent operation, Soumat also has a solid reputation among farmers who load producer cars. Soumat has a complete Eastern infrastructure, with its grain terminal at the mouth of the Mission River which feeds into the Great Lakes System. At the other end, in the St. Lawrence River, Soumat owns and operates a large transfer elevator which handles both grain and industrial products for key clients. Marketing services, in Winnipeg and in Trois-Rivières, source supplies from across Western Canada, Ontario and Quebec.

Soumat is comprised of four companies: Mission Terminal Inc.; Les Élévateurs des Trois-Rivières; Les Grains Lac Supérieur Ltée; and Services Maritime Laviolette. The companies have ownership and equity interests in other ventures. The entire network is highlighted in the map.
